What is EPR E-Waste Registration?

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for E-waste is a mandatory registration regulated by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) under the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022, notified by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC).

It requires all manufacturers, importers, brand owners (PIBOs), and refurbishers of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) to take responsibility for the collection, recycling, and environmentally sound disposal of their products once they reach end-of-life.

The EPR registration must be obtained before you introduce electronic products into the market in India.
